Five Sentence Fiction - Fearless

Raw rock scrapped bare skin as he push himself and his precious powders ahead, light had not yet penetrated this far into mother earth, yet the darkness did not deter him, nor would he let any fear defeat him.

He must reach his destination before the sun awoke, he would need all her precious light for his work ahead.

As the first rays of light shone up on the rough wall in front of him, he was ready with powders and nimble hands to work and talk to the heart of the  mother.

He told her of their plight, begged of her to help so that they could last the winter through, she was their only hope now.

As light faded he turned to retreat into the cold world outside, he could do no more, he’d entered the mother without fear, he returned to the world with hope.

Five Sentence Fiction - Joy in the Rain

It was definitely looking black over Bill’s mothers, in the Pluviophiles heart, hope started to be born.

The sun had been relentless in it's torment, hot sticky air was pulling at her skin, drawing out her life energy.

Slowly it started, the soft gentle drizzle that gently soaked you through.

Faster, faster it came down like a dam had burst overhead, she danced in joyous bliss, her heart soaking up all nature’s moist treasure.

Rain the life blood of the Pluviophile had returned.

Five Sentence Fiction - Summer Rain

Kate idly watched as the water slowly formed interconnecting lines on the window pane.

The tea was hot and the scones rich with butter were fresh and warm from the oven, as rain shelters go this was heaven.

“Well they say there was blood everywhere, she was such a sweet young thing, if you ask me I think the police should talk to that young lad from Dale’s farm, I never did like the look of him”.

Kate smiled as the conversation drifted over the tables.

What could be more English than a tea room, summer rain, village gossip and a midsummer murder.
