Natures Colour and Vibrancy

The garden is looking lush and colourful at the moment.
Full of bird song and vibrant with life.
This is a good time of year.

Spring has begun to bloom in the garden

It's nice to see Mother Nature bring back some colour in to the garden with the advent of Spring. First the Snowdrops and Camellias and soon the cheery Daffodils and nodding Bluebells will show  their colourful blooms that lift the spirit.

Sunna is trying her best.

Sunna is trying her best for me in battling through the British wet weather.
The tomatoes are just starting to ripen and I've picked my first few
luscious red fruits off the vine this week. I've still got my grans
Green Tom chutney recipe at hand though. I've a feeling it may
come into use this year.

....and doesn't the sight of ripened blackberries just scream Autumn.
Warming crumble pies with lashings of custard.

Wisteria Memories

The wisteria is but a memory now,
but what a wonderful show it put
on for us this year.

Another family raised and flown

Mother keeps a close watched over her second brood.
The weather was terrible for this blackbirds second family
but the mother never left her post and through pouring rain and winds
she kept them safe with daddy blackbird never far away.

The two chicks grow healthy and large

Then one bright morning, only one chick remained but still
under the watchful eye of daddy on his overhead perch.

A little while later I looked to find the nest was bare and all had flown.
Not too far though, I still see the little family hopping around the garden,
still keeping mother and father busy. I've told the dog he's on cat patrol
to help guard our little feathered family.

I so love this time of year.

Spring Flowers in Bloom

Above is a collage I've made of the photos I took in the garden during April. A garden and flowers can always brighten the spirit. My head is starting to buzz with new ideas again, I just need a bit more light and energy so that they can begin to flourish.
